RealVAMS: Getting Real-World Value from Value Added Models
Description
Download Presentation SlidesRealVAMS is an innovative approach to assess the impact of a teacher or intervention program on real-world outcomes. Measuring teacher and program effectiveness has become increasingly important in recent years as a result of the test-based accountability movement. Value Added Models (VAMs) attempt to measure a teacher's impact on student achievement beyond what is expected of a student given the student's and his or her peers' prior performance and demographic information. This webinar will share the RealVAMS multidimensional value added estimation methodology and demonstrate the project developed open-source program (R) to implement the proposed methods with a district data set. Participants will explore how this method and software can enhance MSP project evaluation through a guided online discussion
